               after January 6, Epiphany) - Celebration of the birth of Jesus

               and the birth to new life of his followers

 

Ordinary Time - Monday after the feast of Jesus' baptism until Ash

               Wednesday - Time of recalling certain important events in

               Jesus' public life

 

Lent - Ash Wednesday to the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy

               Thursday - Season of penitential preparation for Jesus' death

               and resurrection

 

Easter Triduum - Last three days of Holy Week, beginning with the Mass

               of the Lord's Supper - Commemoration of Jesus' "passing

               over" from suffering and death to resurrection

 

Easter - Easter Vigil through Pentecost Sunday - Celebration of the

               resurrection and ascension, and of pentecost, the fulfillment of

               Jesus' promise of the Holy Spirit

 

Ordinary Time - Monday after Pentecost Sunday to the first Sunday of

               Advent - Time of commemorating the Trinity, the Eucharist,

               and other faith mysteries
